How to join Love Story Roleplay
Everything you need, from installing FiveM and connecting for the first time to creating your character, finding a job and settling into the city's stories.
Getting started
Seven steps to the city
Connecting takes only a few minutes once the right software is installed. FiveM runs alongside your existing copy of GTA V and does not modify your original game files.
Install FiveM
Go to fivem.net and click Download Client. Run the installer — FiveM automatically detects your GTA V installation and sets itself up.
Let FiveM auto-update each time you launch it. An outdated client can prevent you from connecting.Have a legitimate, updated copy of GTA V
FiveM requires a legitimate, fully updated copy of Grand Theft Auto V (sold separately) from one of these platforms:
Make sure GTA V has finished downloading and has launched at least once before opening FiveM.
Find Love Story Roleplay
Server browser: click Play, search
Love Story Roleplay, select the server and click Connect.Direct connect: press F8 to open the FiveM console, paste the command below and press Enter.

Your first connection downloads the server's custom assets — scripts, vehicles, clothing and more. This can take 5–20 minutes depending on your connection. Later logins are much faster because resources are cached.
Don't close FiveM or alt-tab away during the download — interrupted downloads can corrupt resource files and force you to clear your cache.Create your character
Once the loading screen clears, set your character's name, customise their appearance and respond to a brief backstory prompt. See First Steps and the character creation rules.
Complete the whitelist process
Love Story Roleplay is whitelisted. Submit your application in
Apply on Discord#whitelist-applicationon Discord. If your connection is rejected, check your status in#whitelist-statusbefore trying again.Enter the city
Once approved, connect, register at City Hall and begin your story.

Your first session
Begin your story
Your first session sets the tone for your character's story. Take your time with each step rather than rushing into the action.
Step 1 of 6
Create your character
When you first load in, you're taken to the character creation screen. Fill in your character's first and last name, customise their appearance with the sliders, and answer the short backstory prompt. A few sentences about where your character comes from and why they arrived in the city is plenty.

Spawn at the newcomer arrival point
After confirming your character, you spawn at the Newcomer Arrival Zone near the city centre. Take a moment to get your bearings. A brief on-screen tutorial with keybind reminders appears — read it before dismissing it.

Visit City Hall to register
Head to City Hall (the star icon on your minimap) and interact with the front desk to register your character. Registration unlocks jobs, the property market and your personal bank account.

Pick up a starter job
Walk to the Job Centre (the briefcase icon on your minimap) and browse entry-level positions. Good starter options include:
- Delivery Driver — pick up and drop off packages around the city; easy to learn and pays steadily.
- Garbage Collector — drive the truck along a set route, collecting bins at marked stops.
- Postal Worker — like delivery driving, with a time bonus for fast completions.
You can switch jobs any time at the Job Centre. Use /job to check your current assignment.

Visit the clothing store
With a few dollars in your pocket, head to any Clothing Store (the shirt icon) to personalise your look. A distinct appearance helps other players recognise your character and builds your identity in the city.

Meet other players and start your story
The heart of Love Story Roleplay is the interactions between characters. Walk into a café, lean against a car in the parking lot, or stroll through the park — opportunities appear when you simply exist in the world. Introduce yourself in character and let the story unfold naturally.

React to events as your character would, not as a player who knows the game's mechanics.
Use /ooc sparingly
Only for genuine technical issues or urgent clarifications — use Discord for everything else.
Introduce yourself in character
A simple “Hey, you new around here?” goes a long way toward building a scene.
Respect the story of others
Avoid cutting someone else's story short without proper narrative build-up.
What is Love Story Roleplay?

Love Story Roleplay is an immersive, story-driven FiveM server built around deep character development and meaningful player interactions. It features a fully realised in-game economy, a wide range of legal and illegal jobs, player-owned housing, and a tight-knit whitelisted community dedicated to high-quality roleplay.
Every character you meet has a history, every faction has an agenda, and every decision you make shapes your story in the city.

Jobs & economy
Every dollar tells a story
All transactions use in-game dollars, split between cash in your wallet (lost if you're robbed or die without insurance) and your bank balance, accessible at any ATM. Deposit after a big payday.

Open your phone with /phone, go to the Jobs app, choose a job and follow the waypoints.

Whitelisted applications are reviewed by player-run department heads, not server admins. Inactivity without notice may result in removal.

Housing & properties
A place to call home
Rent or buy apartments and homes, furnish your space, and set up your character's private life in the city. Apartments, houses and businesses are all part of the property market.
- Register at City Hall first — registration unlocks the property market.
- Owned housing interiors are green zones, protected from negative RP.
- Family residences are neutral ground — never spun or shot at.
- Some property purchases apply a small city tax, shown before you confirm.

FAQ
Quick answers
How do I join the server?
You need a legitimate copy of GTA V, the FiveM client, and an approved whitelist application. Follow the joining steps above.
Is the server free to play?
Yes, if you are vouched. If you are not vouched you must pay for whitelist — you can use creator code “nay” for a discount off whitelist purchases. GTA V must be purchased separately; FiveM is free to download and install.
What do I do if I'm stuck or encounter a bug?
For urgent in-game issues (stuck in terrain, a broken mission, a server-side bug), use /report in-game. For non-urgent issues, open a ticket in #support on Discord with as much detail as possible.
Can I have multiple characters?
Yes — each account supports up to 3 characters. Each must have a distinct identity; reusing the same backstory across characters is not permitted.
What happens if I get banned?
Submit a formal appeal in #ban-appeals using the pinned template. Appeals require a cooldown period to have passed, and repeated or severe violations may result in a permanent ban with no appeal pathway.
Is voice chat required?
Yes. A working microphone is required — text-only play is not supported. Configure your microphone in FiveM's audio settings before connecting.
What mods are allowed?
Only visual mods that don't affect gameplay, such as reshade presets and graphics packs. Anything that alters mechanics, gives an advantage or works as a trainer (such as Menyoo or Simple Trainer) is strictly prohibited and may result in a permanent ban. When in doubt, ask in #support.
How do I report another player?
- Urgent (active rule breaks, harassment mid-session): use
/reportin-game. - Non-urgent (after the fact, patterns, evidence-based): open a
#supportticket and attach your clips.
When are server events held?
Events are announced in #announcements ahead of time. Most scheduled events are on weekends, though storyline events and staff-run scenarios can happen any day.
Can I stream on Twitch or YouTube?
Yes — streaming is welcome and encouraged. Know the chat conduct rules first (your viewers are an extension of your public presence) and enable streamer mode in FiveM to hide sensitive UI.
IC / OOC etiquette
Keep the story intact
In-character (IC) is anything your character says, does or perceives — local voice, radio, phone calls and in-world texts. Out-of-character (OOC) is you, the player, and exists only for genuine logistical needs.
Use /ooc only for genuine out-of-character needs
For example, checking whether another player is comfortable continuing a scene, or flagging a technical issue. Never use it to influence, comment on or escape an active roleplay situation.
No spamming any chat channel
Repeated messages, rapid-fire flooding, or scripts and macros that automate chat count as spam — in local, OOC, radio, Discord and every other channel.
Voice chat must match your character's situation
Speak at a volume and range that makes sense for the scene. You shouldn't be heard across long distances unless your character is using a radio or another in-world device.
No excessive caps lock or special characters
Use normal capitalisation and punctuation. Sustained caps lock is treated as aggressive or spammy behaviour.
Never share personal information in public chats
No full names, addresses, phone numbers or social profiles — yours or anyone else's. Report anyone sharing your information without consent.
Streamer mode etiquette
Never use knowledge that someone is streaming for an in-game advantage — no stream sniping, no posting a streamer's location, no disrupting their session.
Discord voice channels follow in-game rules
The same rules apply in Discord voice, and violations there carry the same weight as in-game infractions.
